Where Do I Fit In?

When our hearts are open, the Holy Spirit works within us to help us grow and be more like Jesus. At Mountain View, we help individuals learn to grow in spirit by studying scripture and participating in Christian Education and other activites.

Spiritual Growth

Mountain View UMC offers a variety of studies through the year. Study opportunities vary depending on need and interest. New learners and those with years of Bible background — all have something new to learn!

Learn More About "Reaching In" Through Study

A person can’t live the Word without knowing the Word. We believe the lessons of the Bible become the foundations for every action, every decision, every path taken…as an individual and as a church. The Bible is the guide for how the faithful follow the Lord and teach others to follow as well. We know learning all the Bible has to teach is a life-long endeavor.

Focused study sessions – offered for a few weeks give participants an opportunity for in-depth study on a single topic or theme.

“Teach me Lord, the way of your decrees, that I may follow it to the end.
Give me understanding so that I may keep your law and obey it with all my heart. Direct me in the path of your commands, for there I find delight.”
Psalms 19: 33-35

United Women in Faith

There are many opportunities…from large groups to small gatherings… for women of the church to pool their talents and interests in “fellowship with a purpose.”

General Meetings
Smaller groups meet every few months for women to engage in more specific learning and mission projects in the company of others with a like mind in Christian living and sharing.

These sessions may focus on a special topic of general interest or a single project, e.g., providing pillows for hospital patients, the study of birds or planting houseplants for the shut ins.

“Strength and dignity are her clothing and she laughs at the times to come.” Proverbs 31:21

Learn More About Angels’ Attic Craft Sale

Meeting the second and fourth Mondays— February through October— talented women crafters prepare handmade items for a huge annual sale in October with many items perfect for the upcoming holidays. From large items like quilts to small home decor pieces, there’s something for every home and every budget. Women participate in all capacities. For those who feel they are not gifted creatively, helping hands are appreciated for the myriad of tasks needed to produce items for sale as well as organize, set up and manage the sale itself.

Profits from the handmade items and home baked goods offered at the sale are used to help fund needs that the church budget just cannot accommodate. In the past, Angel’s Attic has helped fund: paving the parking lot, purchase of special hymnals and sound equipment for Worship, upgrades for the kitchen and the heating/cooling system, new carpeting, and so very much more.

United Methodist Men

Everybody has a calling to do God’s work. For the Mountain View United Methodist Men, callings for service to the church can be as varied as erecting a structure for the playground to scooping up ice cream for a long line of family, friends and those in the “neighborhood” of Jesus.

Learn More about Men's Ministry

The United Methodist Men (UMM) meet regularly as friends…to just “talk things over” that are affecting their personal lives and the life of the church. They engage in activities they enjoy and work hard on projects that benefit Mountain View.

The men meet every Tuesday morning for coffee at 7:30AM. All meetings are open to men desiring the fellowship of time spent with other Christian men.

Serve

The purpose of the church as a body of Christ is to serve all.
We are responsible to share God’s love with others. To the sad, the lonely, the hungry and those who are unable to leave their homes, or have no safe haven, we serve…offering hope in the name of Jesus Christ.
